I was a Supply Officer in the U.S. Navy for over 30 years. My Department did not provide any product or perform any function that directly contributed to the ship's mission but we supported those Departments that did. Without the services we provided, the systems could not work, the weapons could not shoot, the crew could not eat and the mission would fail. Our customers knew that they could not do their job without us. We were a critical part of the team. Good customer service was critical in making sure that my crew was taken care of, the ship could continue to meet its mission, and morale remained high.
While good customer service was important for my job as a Supply Officer in the Navy, it is even more critical in business. I know that there are other van rental companies out there. I know that you don't have to rent from me. I know that there are many factors that contribute to a positive outcome when renting a van. A good prodcut and a good price are a given, but for me... the Customer is King!
